New Muslim Foundations
A gentle introduction to worship, purification, prayer, daily Muslim life, and building confidence after shahadah.
Beginner pathwayA foundation for new Muslims in South Africa
The Ummah Academy is envisioned as a welcoming Islamic learning foundation for those who have recently embraced Islam, those exploring the faith, and families seeking structured guidance in Qur'an, theology, worship, and the articles of faith.
Our intention
Becoming Muslim is a profound beginning. The Ummah Academy exists to make that beginning easier through structured lessons, compassionate teachers, and a community that understands the questions, family realities, and cultural transitions many new Muslims experience in South Africa.
Knowledge should not feel distant. It should be taught with mercy, order, and a path that helps the heart settle into Islam.

Articles of faith
New Muslims need a clear foundation in īmān. The Academy can teach the six articles of faith through simple definitions, Qur'anic proofs, teacher-led discussions, and practical reflections that connect belief to worship and character.

Suggested curriculum
Lessons centre the Qur'an, authentic Sunnah, and the inherited scholarship of Islam.
Students are guided with patience, privacy, compassion, and respect for their personal journey.
Content is organised into levels, lesson outcomes, reading lists, and teacher-led study circles.
The foundation can serve local realities, family questions, community access, and regional support networks.
This website can become the public home for the foundation: student registration, course calendars, articles, teacher profiles, donation information, and downloadable new-Muslim learning resources.
